It is interesting how we are so quick to react to others' negativity towards us, yet we have these bouts of negative "I" conversations with ourselves. We wouldn't let a stranger enter our house, yet we allow our negative thoughts to come in and take up residence in our minds. It's time to get out of our own way. When we see a negative thought come into our mind, we must change the channel like we would on a television program or commercial we do not wish to watch. Stop allowing our negative thoughts to take up residence. If that is a challenge for you, tell yourself, "I will make an appointment with anger tomorrow at 6 pm, but right now, I have things to do." Choose to either release that negative thought or schedule an appointment at a later date and time. Whichever works better for you. Isn't that what you do with the cable man if that date and time are not feasible for you? Then, why are your negative emotions any different?
Use your vehicle of creativity to unmask, explore, and express the noise within and then create the artistic platform to release. Are you a writer, designer, musician, photographer, dancer, artist, singer, athlete, or chef? What is something you physically enjoy doing? Identify that action item for yourself. The only thing stopping you is YOU! Utilize the unwanted energy to your advantage. Flip the script on that negative vibe and tell yourself, "Not today." Allow your creativity to soar to new heights, embrace your authenticity, and unmask your potential. Your emotional health will thank you for it.
