Life: Be Who You Are Meant To Be


Do you know who you are? Are you living by someone else’s terms? Are you doing what you want, were meant to, or feel you must do? These three questions are seeds to get you thinking about your own life (personally, professionally, and privately) and whether you are truly living the life you were meant to.

In life, we sometimes tend to get stagnant because it is comfortable. We are afraid to turn the tables and even reach outside our comfort zone for various reasons. We lay idle as our dreams wither away or stay in unhealthy relationships because the alternative is too difficult to fathom or challenging to deal with. We may also put to rest our God-given skills and talents to work in a dead-end job because “at least we know what we’re getting in the current situation.” But in hindsight, who are we really fooling? Fear, anger, guilt, shame, sadness, and grief are internal emotions that take us away from a situation or keep us away from something we want. The question is – is it worth it, and what are we getting out of it?

Ask yourself:

Is it worth it, too: not fulfill the passion you think about every night before you go to bed, dream about every night, and wake up wishing, hoping, and/or motivated to live out your purpose and true potential?

In a job, is it worth it to wake up to an alarm clock for a job you hate, tolerate, cannot promote within, is stressful, and/or is taking up your valuable time and sucking up all your energy?

In a relationship, is it worth it to continue settling for an individual who no longer believes in you, supports you, and whom you no longer respect? The very thing you love about the person is no longer present, and the daily encounters get increasingly treacherous, unhealthy, and toxic creating undue stress, anxiety, and happiness for everyone involved.

The list can go on and on and on… so when will it stop? When is it time to let go and be the person you were meant to be? Who is that person? That is something you will need to define for yourself. When will you stop and listen to what your emotions tell you? If every emotion is motivated by a positive intention, ask yourself… what you need to learn from the situation and about yourself? Determine what you need to know and learn to let go of that negative emotion disabling you from moving forward.
