Self-Care Is Important To Your Mental Health

Energy is everything.  Be mindful of the energy of the people you hang around, especially within your inner circle.  Do they enhance your energy or suck the life right out of you?  Do they have a positive mindset or come from a deficit model - one of limitation?  Peace of mind is very important.  With the economy in its current status, life transitions, and life challenges, along with those character-building days, it's important to have people around you who genuinely care about you, believe in you, elevate you, want the best for you, and fill you up when your cup runneth over or when your tank is empty.

WHO is the energy sucker or Debbie/Don Downer in your life?  Is it a family member, partner/significant other, friend, business partner, associate, boss, colleague, classmate, or acquaintance....?

HOW do you need to refresh?  Do you need a mental health "break" from the individual(s), a mental health "week/weekend" for yourself, or a complete "removal" from the person/people due to their toxicity?

WHAT self-care/mental health management tools do you use to help you refresh?  Here are some examples: spa day/weekend, golf, gardening, a movie, reading a book, taking a walk, journaling, music, writing, painting, dancing, photography, drawing, exercising, cooking, meditation, etc...

During this self-care regime, do some self-reflection.  Make the time to get to know yourself, your energy, and your mindset within your Triple P Lifestyle (personal, professional, and private).  What do you need?  Write it down.  Are there any changes that need to be made within yourself?  If so, what?  Is it something you can change on your own, or would the assistance of a therapist or life coach benefit you to guide you through this process?  It first starts with you.
