What's In The Photograph?

As a child, we dreamed of possibilities and the what ifs. And, over the years, those thoughts faded or enhanced based on life experiences and the highs and lows of your busy schedule and active lifestyle.

Do you remember those old photo albums? The ones where you pulled back the plastic film to insert your captured moments of family, friends, and fond memories? You might have had the ones where you slid in your favorite photo from the top or the side. Or was it the type of album where you carefully inserted the corners of the picture inside the four triangular slots? Whichever kind of album you had, they captured moments where you seized the day and focused on the present, and although those memories reflected the past, you can still review those special occasions.

Don't get so caught up in your busy schedule and active lifestyle that you forget to live. Make time to prioritize YOU as you schedule those meetings, appointments, and to-dos. Prioritize by scheduling a 20-30 minute break daily by doing something you love, taking a vacation alone or with family and friends, engaging in a hobby, or participating in outdoor activities. Think of what experience you would like to have that you could capture in a still photograph. What would that moment in time say, what would it show, and how would it be interpreted?

A photograph could have a variety of interpretations, including the emotion behind the frame. Don't let these moments steal away. Capture the moment on your terms. Create time for memories and possibilities by monitoring what you define as important vs. what is urgent within your busy schedule and active lifestyle. Create opportunities to elicit joy and happiness vs. frustration, anxiety, and stress. It is necessary to regroup, refocus, and refuel to continue showing up as your best self without compromising yourself. So, what does that picture in the frame look like to you? Define it, create it, manifest it, and experience it. The time is now.
